I'm old now, and finished with the survival struggle. This has allowed me much time to study and observe more fully than ever, the forces at play In America, that determine the quality of life for all of us. My view of course, is colored by my own history as a woman born in 1940, who struggled long and hard to raise two children without any public assistance after being widowed at a young age. I am grateful for Medicare and Social Security, which is my only income now, because single mothers, and  women in general in my time, made far too little money to save for eventualities like disability and retirement.

Mainstream America 2010, as I see from here, is designed for who have swallowed hook line and sinker the belief that personal worth and success are primarily measured by how much money, status, and goods one can acquire and keep. This fully materialistic "American Dream" is packaged and sold 24/7 by those who profit from it the most.
